Family Day

In 2009 Family Day was Sept 5th and a great day was had by all.Thankfully the weather was brilliant for mid September as we were in the middle of an Indian Summer

There were many helpers on the day and particular thanks to Pat who got soaked from the sponge throwing and to Linda who did fantastic face painting.

The best garden of the estate this year went to no 18 (117 in 2008) and the winner received €50 award

Many thanks to Jungle Mania Kilcoole who sponsored 2 vouchers for the fun day raffle

We now know that the girls in Rathdown Park are the strongest as they trashed the boys in the tug of war competition in once again. This is now 3 years in a row.

The 2010 Family Day is planned for Saturday 18th September and anyone offering to help should contact a committee member. Sponsorship also appreciated.

Garden of the year 2009 was no 18 from the Horseshoe.

2008 was won by No 117.

Clean Up Day

Our Summer clean up day was held on  Saturday 12th June. This year it was combined with a painting day. We repainted the main entrance wall and the pathway to St Kevin's school and around La Touche Park.

We would like to thank the many Residents who came out to support the work on the day.

All residents are asked to:

  1. Make sure your front garden and shrubs are tidy.
  2. Cut back any shrubs that overhang the footpaths.
  3. Clear the weeds from the road verge in front of your own house
  4. Keep the grass margin in front of your house cut and trimmed

Wickow County Council have issued warnings about overgrown hedges and the need for owners to ensure that they are controlled and cut..

Annual General Meeting

Wednesday 28th April 2010:St Kevin's School at 8pm

The 2010 AGM was held in St Kevin's school and there was lively debate on issues involving the estate. The meeting was exceptionally well attended and went smoothly. There was a question and answer session on the issue of the wall at the end of the cul de sac into Redford Park and the Committee outlined the series of meetings with the house owner, the Redford Park representatives, Councillors and Council Officials, since the area was defaced. There was no positive development from any of these and as a result our Association has decided to rectify the situation ourselves by painting the wall and planting new shrubs.

The issue over suggestions for the front wall came up again and the Committee said there was a poor response to the plea for ideas. The current ideas were brought to the meeting and people were prompted to make further suggestions.

The Committee talked about the need to focus on the Fee colection process in these hard times and said that while the fee was set at €50, that in hardship cases a reduced anount would be acceptable. It was suggested from the floor that we commence collection in May and this was agreed.
