Trees in Rathdown Park add beauty and create an environmentally comfortable ambiance for the residents. A considerable amount of the annual maintenance fee is expensed on their upkeep

It is the policy of the Residents' Association to nurture and grow trees within the estate. We feel that the mix of trees provide seasonal colour and help create a unique atmosphere and ambiance within our community. We have an ongoing policy of pruning trees and replacing old ones with new ones and we will, in consultation with residents prune and remove branches and undertake any remedial work when necessary. A considerable part of the annual maintenance fee is spent on our tree programme with almost 4,000 spent in the last two years along with 5,000 spent on grass cutting on the green areas. |
No resident has the right to remove trees in the public area, whether it be on the pathways or on the greens. It is the role of Wicklow County Council or the Association to do so and it must be remembered that these have been funded from fees collected from neighbours and grants obtained from the County Council. There are also insurance issues to be kept in mind if someone takes on this task themselves. If you have any issues relating to trees within your immediate area please consult a committee member. After listening to the concerns of residents during 2010 a plan of action was drawn up involving felling certain dead or diseased trees and prunning others. This programme took place in January 2011 |
